House quickly kills ’embarrass Perry’ resolution

All 230 Republicans present, plus Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Tex., voted to table (kill) Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.’s resolution “condemning” Gov. Rick Perry for having hunted on a piece of land formerly referred to by a racist name.

Speaker Boehner chose to deal with this one right away, ruling the resolution out of order. Jackson had presented it as a “privileged resolution,” which must pertain to actions by members of the House.
