When I was younger, I was told, “Once it’s on the internet, it’s there forever.” This useful saying is followed by some but haphazardly discarded by others. A notorious trope is that politicians are always in public relations rehab thanks to past online statements, and that has never been truer for the new wave of socialists. From politicians to influencers, they have all shown their dark, twisted fantasies of overt anti-American extremism online.
During the 2026 wave of socialism, we have seen a surge of Democratic Socialists of America influencers and candidates running for public office. In this election cycle full of nationwide political mayhem, we have witnessed an overperformance from DSA members. From New York to Wisconsin to California, all of these members are riddled with pasts they are rightfully struggling to shake off.

Francesca Hong, the recently crowned Democratic nominee for Wisconsin governor, has been plagued by her old tweets since her entry into politics. Despite cosplaying as an average Midwestern woman, she has a strange history of condemning anything American.
She tells her followers to cancel Thanksgiving so we can “stop celebrating colonialism and the original superspreader event that killed Indigenous folx and women.” While on the topic of attacking holidays, she explained that she hates Valentine’s Day because “the worst of humanity comes out from folks ‘celebrating’ on another day capitalism tells you how to show love.” Her confused hatred of holidays over lies regarding disease and the promotion of affection being inherently capitalistic reveals a concerning lack of social awareness.
Her opinions on fellow citizens are even worse and confusing. She tweeted, “Police exist to uphold white supremacy. Defund then abolish. Reform can’t be an option.” and “I ate two bites of my kid’s cheeseburger at a Culver’s in black river falls… Mostly just wanted to leave bc I was on the verge of a anxiety attack… to many old white people.” Hong’s mangled ideology treats first responders and white people, who make up most of her possible constituents, as comparable to the evils that plague society. Her list of grievances is such a PR nightmare that even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a fellow socialist, declined to endorse her.
This cycle, another socialist, Darializa Chevalier, spawned from one of New York’s darkest-blue congressional districts. Chevalier’s triumph in New York’s 13th Congressional District over a five-term incumbent mirrors that of Ocasio-Cortez, and her success has garnered praise from fellow socialists. With her outspoken calls to action and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s endorsement, she was a perfect candidate. But like most socialists, she has skeletons in her closet. Before her political career, she organized and participated in the antisemitic Columbia University Gaza solidarity encampments, called for the abolition of police, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Customs and Border Protection, and is infatuated with Marxism.
Before the political spotlight, she was very transparent about her Marxist nature, similar to all socialist candidates, tweeting rhetoric such as “seize the means of production” and posting that most of the political theory she read was communist, but “the pyromania associated with anarchism is very intriguing to me.” Naturally, supporting political ideologies that forcibly steal from everyone and destroy everything intrigues her.
In addition to her adoration for Marxist rhetoric, she detestably tweeted anti-American garbage such as “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.” A horrid tweet that should be a career-killer and render someone unfit for Congress, unless you are a socialist.
She harbors a cruel animosity toward police, with a history of profane tweets such as “Felt cute. F*** 12,” reposting a message stating, “In New York they don’t say ‘I love you,’ they say ‘NYPD suck my d***’ and I think that’s beautiful,” and declaring that “ALL PIGS EVERYWHERE ARE HARAM.” Her audacious social media footprint will keep her in the political pigpen.
Since entering the internet with a nepotistic position at The Young Turks, Hasan Piker has constructed a career out of profane, anti-American, vile rampages whipped up during his fits of rage. His unkempt nature has led him to state, infamously, that “America deserved 9/11,” abuse his dog on camera, and broadcast Houthi propaganda videos. Until recently, no one would have predicted that an animal-abusing Muslim extremist would be the champion of a political organization in the United States.
Despite short bans on Twitch, a platform owned by a radical leftist, he has not calmed down. He has yelled on stream, “Oh my god, 9/11 2 is going to be so sick,” and “Give Saudi Arabia a nuke so they can do 9/11 2,” while earlier in the year interviewing a Houthi terrorist who had recently attacked and held hostage the crew of a peaceful cargo ship. His infatuation with Islamic fundamentalism is incompatible with Western ideology, but luckily for him, the DSA also detests Western ideology.
Recently, Piker’s political crème de la crème was dug up, and it perfectly encapsulates his nature. A video of him staring at the camera and slowly saying, “We’re going to destroy the white race, bitch. That’s what we’re here to do!” caused a firestorm across X. As the DSA’s No. 1 cheerleader, he gives an unfiltered look into the minds of what the socialists are thinking.
THE DSA ISN’T HIDING IT ANYMORE: IT WANTS TO BURN THE CONSTITUTION
Despite these horrific words, he remains the poster child of the DSA, crossing the nation to attend rallies and campaign for the highest echelon of DSA candidates, such as Mamdani, Hong, and Chevalier.
The social media history of these deplorable socialists is riddled with extremist, anti-American rhetoric. Their deranged social media presence parallels their vision for America and the DSA’s official platform, which supports the destruction of the Constitution; abolishing the police, CBP, and ICE; amnesty for all; and the end of private property. Thankfully, the internet has archived their unfiltered thoughts and has helped build a PR pyre that the DSA is happily throwing a match onto.
