A New York judge delayed Luigi Mangione’s state murder trial indefinitely on Monday as his lawyers seek to have the prosecution’s case tossed for double jeopardy following his guilty plea to federal charges.

Judge Gregory Carro gave Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg until Oct. 9 to respond to the defense’s double jeopardy argument. A court hearing on the matter will then be held on Dec. 10.
