A West Virginia man running for that state’s House of Delegates died during Hurricane Sandy, but his name will remain on the ballot, according to news reports.
John Rose Sr., a GOP candidate, was struck by a tree limb on Tuesday as he checked the fences at his deer farm, his son said, according to The Associated Press.

Local news reports said Rose was known as a champion of deer farms.
“He was a real professional and a real credit to the industry,” Agriculture Commissioner Gus Douglass said, according to the Charleston Daily Mail.
