Suspect in a Prince George’s County abduction still at large

One suspect was arrested and another is still at large after an abuduction in Prince George’s County, police said.

About 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police got a report of an abduction in the 5200 block of 59th Avenue in Hyattsville, police spokesman Cpl. Mike Rodriguez said.

Authorities said two people approached a man, demanded money and forced him into a minivan at gunpoint. They drove to Kenilworth Avenue and made the victim withdraw money from an ATM, Rodriguez said.

Officers followed the suspects’ car, and at one point they bailed out of it. Police followed them on foot, and one of the suspects fired shots but didn’t hit the officers, Rodriguez said.

One person was apprehended in the 5200 block of 60th Avenue. The other is still being sought, Rodriguez said, but police said no description was available.
