2020 presidential contender Seth Moulton offered a backhanded compliment to Joe Biden for reversing his support for the Hyde Amendment, a provision that largely prohibits federal money being used for abortions.
The Democratic representative from Massachusetts tweeted out support for Biden’s change of opinion, but also dinged him for his past support for the Iraq War.
“Bravo to @JoeBiden for doing the right thing and reversing his longstanding support for the Hyde Amendment. It takes courage to admit when you’re wrong, especially when those decisions affect millions of people. Now do the Iraq War,” he said.

While he was serving as a senator from Delaware from 1973 to 2009, Biden voted in favor of the Iraq War and has supported the Hyde Amendment for years. The former vice president announced Thursday that “times have changed” and he no longer supports the provision.
Biden had received pushback from fellow Democrats after his campaign had previously signaled he still supported the amendment.
Biden is leading the pack of almost two dozen Democratic candidates, with a RealClearPolitics national average of polls placing him at 33.5% support. Moulton is languishing in the polls, barely registering any support among Democratic voters.
