When President Bush said earlier this week that he had to throw out free market principles in order to save them, I was at first stunned, then absolutely aghast, and finally reduced to a slow burn. I’ve been thinking since about what I would write in this post, but there was so much that I knew it needed to be refined at least a little before being written.
