Michele Bachmann: ‘I’ve never done twerking in my life’

Miley Cyrus played one convincing Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on last week’s “Saturday Night Live,” but all similarities between the Congresswoman and the twerking queen stop there, as Bachmann has never “done twerking” in her life and doesn’t expect “to take it up.”

Bachmann conducted a tele-town hall with TheTeaParty.net on Tuesday and discussed the “Saturday Night Live” skit featuring Miley Cyrus. The Minnesota congresswoman took the parody — which featured Cyrus as Bachmann twerking on a pseudo-House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) — in stride, saying it wasn’t the first time the show had produced a few laughs at her expense.

“You know I have a good sense of humor and I never take that personally,” Bachmann said. “I’ve been lampooned six or seven times on “Saturday Night Live,” and that’s all done in good fun.”

The Congresswoman continued, telling listeners her Capitol Hill office received a bevy of calls asking if it was actually her who appeared on the show.

“I will tell you, as a 57-year-old woman, it’s been a long time since I’ve been confused for a 20-year-old,” Bachmann said.

And the former Republican Presidential candidate didn’t stop there, going so far as to discuss her own experiences with twerking — or lack thereof.

“I’ve never done twerking in my life and I don’t intend to take it up,” she said.
