British police raided the London office of Cambridge Analytica early Saturday for information related to its investigation into possible mishandling of personal information during the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
An estimated one dozen investigators were spotted entering the office late Friday after a High Court judge issued a warrant to search the premises. They departed seven hours later, according to one report.
The data mining company is being investigated by both U.S. and British authorities over allegations that it obtained data from 50 million Facebook users and used it to influence voters in the U.S. election and “Brexit” vote in 2016.
Cambridge Analytica, which worked for President Trump’s campaign, has denied any wrongdoing and said the information it got a hold of was deleted and not used in the 2016 U.S. election.
Investigators will now look over evidence obtained in the raid before deciding next steps.
