Comedian and actress Sarah Silverman revealed she “fell in love” with the Trump supporters she met while filming her new Hulu satirical series, “I Love You, America.”
“When you’re one-on-one with someone who doesn’t agree with you, or whose ideology is different than yours, when you’re face to face, your porcupine needles go down,” Silverman told Vulture Festival attendees in Los Angeles Sunday night, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“The surprise was … I fell in love with them. I had a great time with them and I felt comfortable,” she continued.
Silverman said remembering most people “want to feel seen” and “feel like we exist” helped her when she was confronted by an agitated person.
However, she didn’t extend the same courtesy to President Trump.
“We’re waiting for him to hit bottom. There’s no bottom. It’s bottomless,” the two-time Emmy Award winner said.
Silverman added that when she fantasized about Trump leaving the White House she envisioned him “with no hair or makeup.”
“I Love You, America” debuted in October.
