Police: Concern increasing about Silver Spring teen missing since February

Police are asking the public for help finding a teenage girl who has been missing from Montgomery County for more than a month.

Montgomery County police said 15-year-old Kaylynn Stevenson, of the 1500 block of West Falkland Lane in Silver Spring, was last seen on Feb. 13.

Foul play was not initially suspected in her disappearance, but police say authorities and the girl’s family have become increasingly concerned because of Stevenson’s age and the amount of time she has been missing.

But no evidence of foul play had been uncovered as of Tuesday and her case is still classified as a runaway, said Blanca Kling, a Montgomery County police spokeswoman.

No one in Stevenson’s family has had contact with her since she went missing.

Stevenson is described as black, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and 110 pounds. She has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing a long black wool jacket and black New Balance sneakers, police said.

The girl’s middle name is Shyann and she may use the alias names Chaynne or Shannelle, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Anyone who has information about her disappearance is asked to call police at 240-773-5400 or 301-279-8000.

Tipsters can also contact NCMEC at 800-THE-LOST (843-5678). Callers can remain anonymous.
