On the day the House will impeach President Trump, Rep. Matt Gaetz slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for initiating an investigation into Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I said after President Trump released the transcript of his perfectly fine call, that Nancy Pelosi had been functionally catfished into an illegitimate impeachment,” said Gaetz.
“We’re going to win the election,” Gaetz continued. “Now, I know Adam Schiff’s dog may not be named ‘impeach,’ but I think it’s the American people that are going to have Adam Schiff in the doghouse when they see that our country has been divided and distracted with no crime, no victim.”
Gaetz, 37, has been one of Trump’s strongest defenders throughout the House Judiciary hearings this month. He ripped into professor Pamela Karlan for poking fun at Trump’s 13-year-old son Barron Trump and pointed out that Daniel Goldman, providing Democrat counsel during the House impeachment hearings, had spent “tens of thousands of dollars” in political donations to the Democratic Party.
Today, we will not win the vote, but we have won the argument.

Gaetz also attacked Joe Biden’s son Hunter, who was paid $86,000 a month by a Ukrainian gas company under investigation for corruption.
“I’m not casting any judgment on any challenges someone goes through in their personal life, but it’s just hard to believe that this is the guy wandering through homeless encampments buying crack who was worth $86,000 a month to Burisma Holdings,” said Gaetz at the Dec. 12 impeachment hearing.
