SEE IT: Man pulls sword on Portland driver who calmly grabs rifle from trunk

A road rage showdown in Portland, Oregon, escalated quickly when a man pulled out a sword, prompting another to reach for a gun.

The incident was captured on video and posted to Twitter by another driver.

A man wearing ripped jeans, a baseball cap, and glasses, also brandishing a sword, confronted another man in stopped traffic. He is seen in the video posturing, seemingly ready to slash the other man with his blade.

The other man, wearing a plaid shirt, remains calm as he walks to his trunk to retrieve a firearm. The video cuts as soon as the gun comes into play.

It is unclear what happened after the video is cut, but Portland Police told Fox News that there were no recent reports involving a sword or otherwise describing the scenario.

“We currently don’t have the manpower to investigate every crime being reported, so it would be unreasonable for us to expend resources to investigate possible crimes in which there is no victim or suspect information, with neither willing to be a victim by reporting the crime,” Lt. Nathan Sheppard explained.

“Road rage incidents can be highly charged and dangerous,” Sheppard added. “It’s unfortunate some community members resort to violence, when given the chance, instead of constructive discourse. Anyone in a similar situation who is in fear for their safety should immediately call 911.”
