Report: Gingrich to campaign with Trump amid VP chatter

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich could make an appearance on the campaign trail alongside presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump at a rally in Cincinnati on Wednesday.

According to a report, Gingrich will join Trump as a “trial balloon” as the real estate mogul continues his search for a running mate. Gingrich has consistently been mentioned as a potential vice presidential candidate for Trump and will be the second prospect to campaign with Trump in two days.

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker is set to campaign with Trump in Raleigh, N.C., on Tuesday night, which will take place only hours after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton campaigns with President Obama in Charlotte, N.C. It also comes only days after Indiana Gov. Mike Pence met with Trump in New York and played golf with him.

The Cincinnati rally on Wednesday is slated for 7 p.m.
