Biden to send ‘a concession telegram’: John Oliver mocks Biden over ‘record player’ comment

Late night comedian John Oliver mocked 2020 presidential front-runner Joe Biden after the former vice president referenced a “record player” during last week’s presidential debate.

Biden, 76, gave a long-winded answer during last Thursday’s debate when he was asked about whether or not Americans need to “repair the legacy of slavery in our country?” In his response, the former vice president suggested that, “we bring social workers into the homes of parents to help them deal with how to raise their children.”

His answer, which included a reference to a “record player,” was not perceived well by some as they suggested he is tone-deaf on the issue of race.

Oliver addressed Biden’s remarks on his show over the weekend.

“Oh, shit! That is Joe Biden saying ‘television,’ then replacing it with ‘record player,’ and then just barely stopping himself from saying ‘phonograph,’” he commented.

Oliver added, “And let’s all remember that very funny moment when Biden sends a concession telegram to Trump next November!”
