The Young and the Restless actor Richard Burgi was fired from the CBS soap opera after quarantining for five days instead of the production’s required 10 days.
Burgi acknowledged on social media that he came back to the soap opera’s set after following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s current recommendation of five days in addition to testing negative twice.

“I felt terrible about it,” Burgi shared in his video. “I still do. It bothers me mightily, but it is what it is. I respect whatever the show’s decision is. They’re doing the best they can, as we all are.”
