Conservatives on social media reacted to ABC’s cancellation of “Roseanne” on Tuesday by questioning why liberal commentator Joy Reid is still employed by NBC, even after some anti-gay comments surfaced on her old personal blog.
The right-leaning Reagan Batallion blog tweeted, “Reminder: @JoyAnnReid still has a job at @MSNBC.”
“ABC wrong to cancel Roseanne after she apologized for her comment — why the double standard from Joy Reid?” conservative journalist Jack Posobiec wrote on Twitter.
Online provocateur Mike Cernovich sarcastically asked, “Did Joy Reid find those hackers yet?,” a reference to Reid’s excuse that web hackers were responsible for the comments on her blog.

Roseanne Barr’s popular TV sitcom was canceled Tuesday after she deleted one of her tweets that suggested former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett looked like a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and “The Planet of the Apes.”
Jarrett is black and many saw Barr’s comment as racist.

Reid, however, received wide support from her NBC and MSNBC colleagues after the old comments on her blog resurfaced. Reid had said they were the result of hackers, though she admitted that she had no proof, even after she said she had hired digital investigators to look into it.
