Elizabeth Warren backers: Uh, defeat him too!

Progressive Change Campaign Committe appears to have changed the candidate they’re campaigning against, at least on one advertisement. The organization, having reportedly raised $100,000 to support an Elizabeth Warren challenge to Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., mistakenly ran an ad against Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis.

Noah Bierman at the Boston Globe‘s Political Intelligence has the story:

The group that says it has raised $100,000 to get Warren into the race has placed a prominent ad on Google urging people to “Draft Elizabeth Warren – to run for Senate and defeat Scott Walker.”
Scott Walker, of course, is the Republican governor of Wisconsin and a popular target of progressives. Scott Brown is the Republican US Senator from Massachusetts, the one whom Warren would presumably be taking on.
The political group responsible for the ad, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, says it was an error. But in fairness, they oppose both Scotts.

Of course they oppose both Scotts – they’re both Republicans. Maybe they should draft Elizabeth Warren to run against “Generic Republican” and figure out the proper names later.
