Trump easily wins Iowa Republican caucuses

President Trump sailed to victory in the 2020 Iowa Republican caucuses.

Trump won the Republican contest on Monday with 97% of the vote when the Associated Press made the call.

The president faces no significant opposition in the Republican primary. Former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh had 1.4% of the vote, and former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld pulled in 1.2% support.

Trump, 73, had a second-place finish in Iowa in the 2016 presidential election. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas won the state four years ago.
