NH anticipating 13.6M visitors this summer

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A new report estimates increases in visitors and spending in New Hampshire this summer.

The report by the Institute for New Hampshire Studies estimates about 13.6 million visitors will come from out-of-state during the summer, about 2 percent higher than last year.

The visitors are anticipated to spend about $1.82 billion, up by 5 percent from a year ago.

Lori Harnois, director of the New Hampshire Division of Tourism and Travel, said falling gas prices, good weather and expected increases in visitors from Canada should make for a strong season.
