Trump costumes fall out of fashion this Halloween

Fewer people will be dressing up as former President Donald Trump this Halloween, according to one of the biggest online websites for costume information.

“We did have to mark down the Trump costumes significantly to move through the inventory,” Chris Turk, spokesman for Yandy.com, said.

Costumes of the 45th president are heavily discounted by retailers across the country, as people seem to be gearing up to go out as superheroes rather than politicians, a report said.

Yandy.com has previously featured politically inspired costumes such as a “Mail-in Ballot” outfit and a “Donna T. Rumpshaker.”

Yet, such outfits are more of a rarity this year, and many people feel burnt out following a grueling 2020 presidential election, according to the report.

“This year, we decided not to do any political costumes because we thought everyone was tired of hearing and seeing it these last couple of years,” Turk said.

The price of the Rumpshaker outfit is now 30% off, and Party City’s “Inflatable Leader Piggyback Costume” saw one-third of its cost from last year slashed, the report said.

The price cuts are emblematic of a drop in Trump’s Halloween popularity, it stated.

When he was the head of the GOP, vendors had trouble keeping supply up with demand, according to the report.

That demand is now being satisfied with the looks of superheroes and villains, including Black Widow, Cruella de Vil, and Batman, the report said.

Still, the look of the 45th president may make a return in the next few years with 2024 on the horizon, Turk said.
