Local nonprofit affordable housing developer Greater Baltimore AHC and partner Apartment Investment Management Co. this week completed their purchase of Kirkwood House Apartments in Northeast Baltimore, the companies said Friday.
The two companies will begin a $7.1 million renovation of the 31-year-old Section 8 property in the Loch Raven neighborhood next month. The project is financed with $16 million in tax-exempt state bonds and approximately $6 million in low-income housing tax credits, as well as a payment in lieu of taxes from the city.
