Authorities said they made 51 arrests in a three-day operation that focused on fathers with active child support warrants.
As a result of the arrests, authorities closed 100 child support-related warrants and writs, according to the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office. Those arrested for back child support owed more than $343,000 combined.
The operation, called the “Father’s Day Warrant Sweep,” took place from June 12 to June 14 and involved Maryland State Police and sheriff’s offices in Prince George’s, Charles and Calvert counties. Deputies investigated 286 warrants and tried to locate suspects at 136 addresses, authorities said.
