Nicole Wallace: Trump is cyberbullying Jeff Sessions

Nicole Wallace, an MSNBC host and former aide to President George W. Bush, accused President Trump Wednesday of cyberbullying Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“I think we have to sort of hit pause and really look at what is happening,” Wallace said Wednesday on “The Today Show.” “Our president is cyberbullying, public shaming, a sitting member of his own cabinet. That’s never happened before.”

Trump has become exceedingly critical of the head of the Justice Department on Twitter the past several days. The president accused Sessions of taking “a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes.”

Trump said in November that he didn’t feel “very strongly” about following through on his campaign promise to investigate his former rival. But the president appears to have changed his mind in recent days as the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election heats up.

Trump has asked numerous times on Twitter why Sessions isn’t investigating Clinton.

At his confirmation hearing, Sessions said he would recuse himself from any matters dealing with the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state because he had made several comments on the matter while campaigning for Trump.
