Virginia Union celebrates 150th anniversary

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Union University is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a series of events.

The celebration kicks off Monday. The featured speaker is author and activist Randall Robinson. Robinson founded TransAfrica and led a nationwide campaign to end apartheid in South Africa. He is a graduate of Virginia Union.

The university says the anniversary celebration will run through April 9, 2015.
