Rock group Third Eye Blind took to Facebook on Wednesday to clarify that its Tuesday night show in Cleveland was not a Republican National Convention event, and that the group condemns “every last stitch” of the RNC’s platform.
The band, as the post explained, played a charity concert at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Tuesday night for nonprofit group Musicians on Call, which brings live music to the bedsides of hospital patients unable to attend performances.
They also listed a few of their social beliefs that have left them feeling disgusted with the RNC’s platform, including that “science is science,” “Black Lives Matter” and “separation of church and state (still a good idea).”
Third Eye Blind, knowing that its performance would be attended by some RNC-goers, used the opportunity to troll the crowd, espousing more of their beliefs and denouncing those of the Republican Party.

“You can boo all you want, but I’m the motherf—king artist up here,” frontman Stephan Jenkins told the crowd, according to Cleveland.com.
A few Twitter users were not happy with the band making fun of Republicans during that show. One fan tweeted that she had “never been so disappointed,” and Third Eye Blind’s official account responded, “good.”

Yahoo News correspondent Hunter Walker asked the group if it was concerned about hurting Musicians on Call with its political messages, to which Third Eye Blind responded with more political messages.
Great question. We were not, as musicians on call were well aware of who we are and our take on things (like science and rights!)
