Megyn Kelly skewers Mike Huckabee over ‘trashy’ comments

Fox News host Megyn Kelly invited former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee onto her nightly program to discuss his recent comments about how it’s “trashy” for women to swear in the workplace — and had some choice words for him.

Kelly asked Huckabee whether he was referring to Fox News women, since he was talking about the differences between how people talk in the workplace in Arkansas compared to New York, where he worked for Fox. Huckabee responded by basically blaming the liberal media for twisting his words.

Watch the interview: When Kelly introduces to Huckabee, she’s smiling, but throughout the segment, you can see her smile disappear. After Huckabee talks about people living in bubbles in New York and California, Kelly gave him some information about the post-1950s era.

“Well, I do have news for you before we let you go,” Kelly said. “We are not only swearing, we’re drinking, we’re smoking, we’re having premarital sex, with birth control, before we go to work and sometimes boss around a bunch of men.”

Huckabee responded, smiling (while also letting viewers know he lives in his own bubble): “I just don’t want to hear that. I don’t want to hear that.”

Kelly offered a parting shot: “That’s just the reality, governor!”

Huckabee may want to blame the liberal media or New York folks for twisting his words, but the fact remains that he called people who swear in the workplace “trashy.” No amount of spin can make that any less of an insult.
