Hillary Clinton confidante Neera Tanden doesn’t expect the former Democratic presidential nominee to ever seek office again after her stunning defeat to President-elect Donald Trump.
“I don’t expect her to ever run for any elected office again,” the president of the Center for American Progress said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Tanden was responding to reports that Clinton is considering running for mayor of New York City.
The New York Daily News reported that top Democrats are pressuring the former secretary of state to get back in the game by running for Mayor Bill de Blasio’s seat.
“I don’t expect her to run for this. I don’t expect her to run for other office,” Tanden said Sunday.
Tanden said Clinton’s focus is on helping kids and families.
“That’s been what she’s been focused on her whole life,” she said.
