MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell interviewed Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis after the candidate’s controversial ad made national headlines and it appeared that she was confused about what exactly she was supposed to be questioning.
In the midst of asking Davis about the offensive ad, Mitchell actually questioned Greg Abbott’s, the opponent’s, paralysis.

Could you have run the ad “without this stark image of the empty wheelchair, which seemed to be trying to point people toward his own supposed disability?” Mitchell asked.
Abbott is a paraplegic, the result of a fallen tree that crushed his spine and necessitated the insertion of two steel rods in his back 30 years ago. He is wheelchair-bound. The Davis campaign ad called him a hypocrite for suing over his accident, but not encouraging others to do the same.
Davis, who stands behind the ad despite the criticism from both sides, appeared on MSNBC to repeat her reasoning for running the ad.
