Bruce Springsteen knows that Democrats don’t have anyone to beat Trump

Bruce Springsteen said what should be obvious: Democrats don’t have anyone to beat President Trump.

“You need someone who can speak some of the same language [as Trump] … and the Democrats don’t have an obvious, effective presidential candidate,” Springsteen told the Sunday Times in an interview published Sunday.

Liberal movie maker Michael Moore made the same admission last month.

“He’s so much smarter than our side,” he said of Trump on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The extent to which Democrats don’t appreciate this fact was demonstrated by Mika Brzezinski confidently throwing out Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as a serious potential nominee.

“Love her. No, not going to happen,” Moore replied.

“Why not?” asked a bemused Brzezinski.

“We cannot run a politician,” said Moore. “We will lose.”

I don’t know why Moore thinks Democrats can’t run a politician, but it’s clear that none of the ones they have have given any reason to justify entering the 2020 race outside of “orange man bad.”

Harris gave an excellent impersonation of a stern person at the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, but that is, to date, her only apparent accomplishment in federal office.

Also during those hearings, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker had his “Spartacus moment,” wherein he bravely released secret documents that had already been cleared by the Judiciary Committee for release.

I suspect he’s not the candidate Democrats want to put forward when searching for someone “smarter” than Trump.

Michael Avenatti is currently awaiting a court hearing over allegations that he assaulted a woman.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has twice fantasized about being in high school so he could take Trump “behind the gym” so he could “beat the hell out of him.” And then he apologized. (Biden is also 76, and though age isn’t a disqualifier on its own, that’s really old.)

Democrats and media liberals think if they call Trump racist and stupid enough times, they’ll waltz through 2020.

Do they know that they need a candidate?
