A top adviser of the the New York Post reportedly ordered the removal of the story of E. Jean Carroll’s rape accusation against President Trump, according to sources.
Col Allan, the former editor-in-chief of the paper, removed the story after it had generated almost 100,000 page views, one of the sources told CNN.
Allan has publicly said he supports Trump and described it as “difficult” to work at the New York Post because of his allegiance to the president.
“Nobody needs to explain why. We already know,” one of the sources said, implying Allan had the story taken down because he is loyal to the president.
Allan has been a lieutenant of Rupert Murdoch, the billionaire owner of that publication, along with the Wall Street Journal and Fox News. Murdoch has been a media ally of Trump.
