House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., will return to Congress on Thursday to cast his first vote since being shot at a practice for the Congressional Baseball Game and will address his fellow lawmakers on the House floor.
Scalise made the announcement in a tweet, saying simply: “I’m back.”

Scalise is finally making public appearances this week after the mid-June shooting in Alexandria, Va. He recently sat down for an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that will air on Sunday night.
Soon after news of his return emerged, CBS’s Norah O’Donnell put posted a picture of House Speaker Paul Ryan seeing Scalise for the first time since he returned to Capitol Hill, which brought him to tears.
