LONDON (AP) — Two Egyptian wrestlers forfeited their matches on Sunday after failing to show up at the ExCel Centre.
Abdou Omar Abdou Ahmed and Saleh Emara lost their first-round matches in 66 and 96-kilogram men’s freestyle by forfeit.
No immediate word was available on why the pair failed to turn up. But Sunday’s early-round sessions started at 8:30 a.m., while the previous seven days of Olympic wrestling began at 1 p.m.
Neither Egyptian wrestler was considered a serious gold-medal contender.
