Jon Stewart made fun of the sanctions put on North Korea by President Obama following the Sony hack on Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show.”
Last week, Obama signed an executive order barring three North Korean entities from using the United States financial system and doing business with Americans. The U.S. already had sanctions against the country that restrict travel and prevent arms smuggling.
“So, in all the sanctions that we had on North Korea, North Korea’s KGB and their arms dealers were still allowed to use our banking system?” Stewart said of the new sanctions. “North Korea is our worst enemy on Earth, and they’re still allowed to use our ATMs?”
Stewart suggested that, to send an effective message to the country regarding the drama surrounding the film “The Interview,” Obama must “make Kim Jong Un quake in his very tiny yet expensive boots.”
