A District police officer who hanged himself in his mother’s house is believed to have had a relationship with a woman accused of murdering a pizza shop owner in Northeast, police said.

Detective Terrence Green was found dead in the Prince George’s County house Thursday night, police said. The seven-year veteran had been questioned in connection with the Aug. 18 murder. It’s believed he had a relationship with Shanika Robinson, the 26-year-old charged with murdering Shahabuddin Rana.

Police say Robinson was being paid $500 a week for marrying Rana and the murder happened after he found out she was having relationships with other men and cut off the payments.
