Durham report: Trump says it was an ‘honor to have fired’ Barr

Former President Donald Trump said that it was an “honor to have fired” former Attorney General Bill Barr.

Trump’s comment comes after Barr appeared on Fox News on Tuesday to give his reaction to the release of special counsel John Durham‘s final report in the four-year investigation regarding the FBI’s handling of its investigation into Trump’s alleged links to the Russian government.

Barr closed out his appearance by reiterating that he will not support Trump as the Republican nominee for president in 2024 and that he doesn’t have what it takes to bring victories to the party. Barr’s interview drew a scathing response from Trump, who accused him of cowardice and gloated over the fact that he fired him.

“I only wish that Bill Barr, as the attorney general of the United States, was able to act,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Sadly, he was afraid of the Radical Left Democrat Lunatics, and their constant threats against him of Impeachment, and was absolutely impotent on the subject of the Durham Report, he should have taken strong action. Even more importantly, he did nothing on the massive Voter Fraud which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election. Remember, you get NOTHING from RINOS. An honor to have fired him!”

Trump and Barr had a falling out in late 2020 when Barr testified that the FBI and Department of Justice had found no evidence of significant voter irregularities. Barr has become a vocal critic of his former boss in recent months.

“He does not have the discipline. He does not have the ability for strategic thinking and linear thinking, or setting priorities or how to get things done in the system,” Barr said earlier this month when asked if Trump was fit to be president. “It is a horror show when he’s left to his own devices. You may want his policies but Trump will not deliver Trump policies. He will deliver chaos.”

However, the former attorney general also offered some praise for the former president Tuesday night, describing the FBI’s investigation as a great injustice. Barr also praised Trump’s policy record.

In August 2022, Barr claimed that Trump had called him a “f***ing loser” during a meeting discussing the response to riots following the death of George Floyd.
