Anthony Scaramucci said there’s “no love lost” between him and former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and, if it were up to him, White House chief strategist Steve Bannon would be fired.
Scaramucci made the comments on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in a clip released before the episode aired Monday night.
Before Scaramucci was fired, he was an integral player in the dismissal of Priebus from his role.
Priebus, the former Republican National Committee chairman, was fired from his job at the end of July. Scaramucci wouldn’t say running Priebus out of the White House was part of his job.
“The Mooch from Long Island would say there’s no love lost there,” Scaramucci told Colbert.
“The weird thing with my relationship with Reince is we were actually pretty good friends when I was a political donor writing checks to the RNC. But, once I became part of the administration or was about to enter the administration, for whatever reason, it was a little more adversarial.”

Scaramucci, who served 10 days as White House communications director last month, famously suggested Bannon was trying to pleasure himself in an unlikely fashion during an interview with The New Yorker. That graphic interview was one of the main reasons he was fired days later.
Bannon’s job status has been the subject of increasingly dire rumors as reports emanating from the White House indicate he might be on the outs with President Trump.
Scaramucci said “that’s up to the president” when asked if Bannon will be fired next week, but it’d be faster if it was his choice.
“If it was up to me, he’d be gone,” Scaramucci said. “But, it’s not up to me.”
