Obamacare enrollment had its best day yet on Wednesday, the same day it became clear Republicans will be able to repeal the healthcare law.
More than 100,000 people made plan selections on healthcare.gov, according to a tweet Thursday morning from Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell.
That made Wednesday the most active enrollment day so far, ever since signups began nine days ago. More than half a million people applied for coverage over the first four days, but not all of them followed through and actually selected a plan.

A contributing factor to the spike in signups could be an advertising push by the Obama administration, which had held off on its major spending until Wednesday, after the presidential election was over.
Open enrollment started Nov. 1 and lasts until the end of January, although with Trump’s victory, Republicans are likely to repeal and replace big parts of the Affordable Care Act next year, making it unclear whether the insurance marketplaces will continue to be available to consumers.
