Royal family has ‘no trust left’ for Prince Harry and Meghan after Netflix documentary: Report

The British royal family is reportedly upset with Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, after their Netflix documentary fired multiple incendiary shots at the family last week.

Although Buckingham Palace has not made any statement about the new docuseries, royal insiders told Entertainment Tonight that there was “no trust left” between the Sussexes and the royal family. A second source told the outlet that the royals were “angry” at the couple.

PRINCE WILLIAM ‘LIVID’ AT HARRY FOR USING FOOTAGE OF PRINCESS DIANA IN NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY: REPORT

Prince William, the heir to the British throne, is particularly upset with his brother for airing footage from an interview between their mother, the late Princess Diana, and a BBC reporter who tricked Diana into giving the interview. After an investigation proved that BBC reporter Martin Bashir lied to the princess, William asked that the footage never be aired again.

The royal family is also wary about a new memoir from the younger prince, which will be released in January, Entertainment Tonight reported. The book is expected to focus on Harry’s life in the royal family before he stepped away from royal duties with Meghan but also promises even more bombshells than the recent documentary. It’s unclear what kinds of accusations will be made. Harry will also make two press appearances to promote the new book.

The book, titled Spare, is the last controversial thing for the royal couple ahead of King Charles III’s coronation in May. It is not clear whether the couple will be at the coronation, but they will not spend Christmas with the royal family at their Sandringham Estate. Charles is expected to deliver his first Christmas speech as the new monarch from the estate on Christmas at 9 a.m. EST.
