Two popular seafood restaurants in Georgetown were damaged in a lunchtime blaze, D.C. fire officials said.
Fire officials said they got a call for a fire at the Hook restaurant in the 3200 block of M Street NW around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, and found heavy fire and smoke coming from the roof of Hook and Tackle Box restaurants, said D.C. fire spokesman Pete Piringer.. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 15 minutes. No one was injured in the two-alarm fire.
The restaurants suffered significant damage and will be closed for several days, Piringer said. Neighboring businesses, including D.C. Cupcakes a few doors down, were okay, he said.
