House Republican leaders will delay a vote on a compromise immigration reform bill from Speaker Paul Ryan until Friday in order to give more lawmakers a chance to review the bill, and to help build support for the struggling measure.
The decision comes after the GOP whip team told Ryan, R-Wis., they did not have enough time to win support for the bill, which would provide a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million Dreamers, limit chain migration and end the diversity visa lottery program. It would also provide funding for a border wall.
