Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump claimed the Democratic National Committee may secretly be the ones behind the slip, not the Russian hackers it had blamed.
Fox News host Greta Van Susteren asked Trump on Wednesday if DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had reached out to him since the incident to explain what had happened or how they planned to fix it.
Trump said he had not heard from Wasserman Schultz nor received an apology from anyone else in the party. Instead, the businessman-turned-politician said he was more concerned about how the information was leaked
“Well, knowing her — I don’t actually know her but I sort of understand her — maybe they weren’t hacked, maybe they just wanted to get it out there,” Trump said.
The New York businessman said the party officials still owe him an apology for not guarding the files well enough.
