Donald Trump should pledge to serve one term as president, suggested WEEKLY STANDARD editor Bill Kristol. Speaking with Brit Hume on Fox News Monday night, Kristol explained that such a pledge might endear the Republican nominee to swing voters who remain unsure about Trump but find Hillary Clinton increasingly difficult to vote for.
Here’s Kristol: “He could say, ‘Look, you want eight years more of this real sleaze in the White House. We had it already. You don’t want it back again. But you have concerns about me. So let me say this. One term. I’m going to appoint an attorney general who is a totally respected bipartisan judicial type or maybe a Democrat who I don’t know who is not loyal to me. And I’m going to never interfere with the work of that Attorney General.'”
