The episode aired on British TV earlier this week, and reactions have been mixed.

“That’s the end of the Peppa Pig phenomenon. What a shame. Education not indoctrination,” author Nick Buckley tweeted. “Children need to learn the basics, the norm, the generalisations – not the outliers, the exceptions or the fashionable.”

“On todays, ‘what are the right-wing of the uk angry about?’ Peppa Pig now has a lesbian couple. Are we sure this country isn’t just pranking everyone and we haven’t been told?” tweeted author Steve McHugh.
