Huntsman insiders whine to the press

Politico’s Jonathan Martin this morning releases a 4,000 word narrative about drama plaguing the largely lackluster Jon Huntsman campaign.

This is a clear sign that the Huntsman campaign is a sinking ship, as insiders are already willing to sing to reporters, casting blame on ‘the other guy.’

David Fisher, a bitter family friend dismissed by the campaign, unleashed several hand-wringing accusations, pinning the blame of Huntsman’s early failures on campaign strategist Jon Weaver.

Portrayed as a micromanaging, cussing, angry boss, there otherwise isn’t much dirt on Weaver, as he appears frustrated at disputes and failures within the campaign.  (Don’t all political campaign managers cuss out their staff when things aren’t going well?)

The Huntsman campaign has released the following statement:

Dave Fischer tried to threaten the campaign regarding his participation in this story and we refused to cooperate with him. As a volunteer staff member he attempted to usurp authority, asked inappropriate questions about junior staff and was rightly asked to leave by Governor Huntsman. His statements about this campaign are untrue. The fact that he would be willing to undermine Governor Huntsman in this way says everything you need to know about his character, his credibility, and whether he has the Governor’s best interests at heart.
