Elementary school principal charged with embezzlement

The principal of a Woodbridge elementary school used a school credit card for personal expenses, according to police.

Prince William County police said that 48-year-old Jenny Enriquez-DeBermant, the principal at Kilby Elementary School, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of embezzlement.

Prince William County Public Schools notified police earlier this week after an investigation by school officials found irregularities with a district-issued credit card. Investigators found that Enriquez-DeBermant used the school card to buy herself electronics, including a television and iPhone, authorities said.

Police allege that Enriquez-DeBermant made $8,000 in unauthorized purchases using the card between June 2011 and March 2012.
