A former CIA spy had harsh words on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, declaring that she could have committed a felony.

Bob Baer, a former CIA officer, noted that a breach of top secret information would put an employee in legal trouble.

“If this in fact was on a private server, you and I would get fired and possibly jailed,” Baer said in an interview with CNN International.

Leaking classified information has led to the imprisonment of Chelsea Manning and the self-imposed exile of Edward Snowden. The Obama administration has taken a dim view of leaks that puts it in a negative light, but high-ranking officials face fewer legal penalties, if any.

The revelation that Clinton might have transmitted classified information has not helped her image among voters. Many think she should be investigated for her private email server. A majority don’t think she is trustworthy.

Unfortunately for Clinton, the longer the private email server remains an issue, the more difficult it will be to brush it aside on the campaign trail.
