Chance the Rapper begs Obama to ‘come back’ on ‘SNL’

Chance the Rapper begged for former President Barack Obama to return to public life on “Saturday Night Live” in a musical tribute that mimicked the sound and stylings of R&B group Boyz II Men.

“Every night I turn the TV on and cry, I say why I feel like we’re all gonna die,” the song starts. “So come back Barack, I know it’s not allowed, but I want you back some how.”

“I need you in my life, so come back Barack,” lyrics continued, before adding, “Things are looking back, like really bad, like robo-bad, like nuclear bad.”

Chance the Rapper, born Chancelor Bennett, guest hosted the late-night sketch comedy show on Saturday.

The rapper, record producer, and actor, whose father worked as an Obama aide, met the former president at the White House in 2016 to discuss the My Brother’s Keeper Challenge initiative.

The Chicago native also curated and headlined a sideline event during the inaugural Obama Summit earlier in November.

Bennett has been an outspoken critic of President Trump, expressing concern on social media in February that Trump would change constitutional term limits on the country’s highest office.
