A protester who appeared to be wearing a turban was escorted out of a Donald Trump rally in Iowa on Sunday.
The man, along with another protester holding a sign that read “Don’t Hate,” were removed from the main gym at Muscatine High School along with a chorus of jeers from the crowd.
Trump reacted to the scene, asking the crowd, “He wasn’t wearing one of those hats, was he?”, as he pointed to what several media outlets reported was one of the Trump campaign’s signature “Make America Great Again” hats.
“Was he wearing one of those? And he never will … and that’s OK,” Trump said, before going into an explanation about how some Muslims have told him that he is doing a great service to members of their religion.
Videos of the incident were quickly posted on social media.
