Ex-trooper charged in sex offense
A former Maryland state trooper was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he had pulled over, police said.

Police said Marlon Iglesias of Silver Spring squeezed a woman’s thigh after he arrested her last year. The woman told police in May that the trooper fondled and kissed her while she was in handcuffs. Iglesias, 42, had resigned in April after his police powers were suspended because of another issue.
Elderly man arrested for sex assault
A 79-year-old man was charged with aggravated sexual assault and Arlington County police are seeking additional victims. Police said Chester Fred Mancinelli, of Arlington, sexually assaulted a young family member over a number of years. He has lived in the Northern Virginia area on and off for the past seven years. Lawyer: Teen mortified by racist label
The attorney for a Baltimore teenager charged in the racially motivated beating of an elderly black fisherman says his client was not involved in the attack and is “mortified” at being labeled a racist. Emmanuel Miller, 16, is charged along with 28-year-old Calvin Lockner and 17-year-old Zachary Watson in the beating last month. All three are being held without bail and were indicted Wednesday on charges that carry decades in prison. Lockner, who has a tattoo of Adolf Hitler, told police he is a member of white supremacist groups. Miller’s lawyer said the two teens have no such affiliations and only hung out with Lockner because he would buy them beer.
Police: Man forced himself on teen
Prince William County police charged a 19-year-old Manassas man with the attempted rape of a 15-year-old girl. Police said Jose Alberto Hernandez was in a garage with the girl when he forced her onto a couch and covered her mouth. The girl escaped and told her mother who called police. Police arrested him hiding at a friend’s house in Manassas.
